The Vitaline difference

Vitaline is moving in the effervescent sector of drinking meals designed scientifically to meet 100% of nutritional needs. As of 2013, Soylent has hatched the sector in the United States, and many competitors have since emerged worldwide.

These competitors offer balanced but often minimalistic formulas on nutritional qualities. We have created Vitaline to produce a more efficient formula that goes further than existing products on nutritional qualities. We produce Vitaline to give access to the best of nutrition, in a simple format.

The first French actor in the sector, we have been marketing Vitaline since the end of 2015. New actors have since emerged, but we still think we have the most successful drinking meal.
The differences in Vitaline are as follows:

  1. Excellent nutritional quality : diversity of ingredients, digestibility, and bioavailability
  2. High in phytonutrients and antioxidant role : in particular rich in phenols and polyphenols
  3. Rich in protein and excellent aminogram
  4. Quality and stable probiotic strains
  5. Quality ingredients and rigorous sourcing
  6. Excellent nutritional values
  7. ... Et en plus, c’est délicieux !

1. Excellent nutritional quality: ingredient diversity, digestibility, and bioavailability

Food diversity (diversity of nutrient sources) is one of the major points of nutrition and the main consensus point of nutritionists. Each nutrient naturally occurs under many different conformations. Nutrition science regularly discovers that a type of molecule, then little considered until then, is important. It is therefore essential to diversify nutrient sources to have a diverse panel of nutrient conformations.

This diversity of conformation also allows different metabolic pathways to intervene. We could compare this to sport: it is best to diversify physical activities to work different muscles and have a balanced musculature.

Vitaline contains over 35 natural and complete ingredients that bring a significant variety of nutrients.

We select our ingredients for their bioavailability and digestibility. The best example is our choice of precuited oat flakes that we make powder reductions while many competing formulas use oatmeal. Although much easier to find on the market, oatmeal is raw and therefore undigested. In human nutrition, it is best to eat cooked or sprout cereals.

We are also working on the conformation of our micronutrients to optimize their bioavailability. It is a long subject, but for example, for magnesium, we put magnesium citrate in Vitaline because it is conformation that emerges in many studies.1 as being the most bioavailable.

2. High phytonutrients and antioxidant index: especially high in phenols and polyphenols

Phytonutrients are a family of nutrients that are not indispensable to life and often omitted by medical nutrition. They are also neglected by almost all of our competitors. However, their role is regularly proven in metabolic balance. High antioxidant effects are attributed to them and their regular consumption is associated with a reduction in the risk of chronic diseases2. Moreover, phytonutrients contribute to global energy through stimulation of mitochondria that are the energy plant of metabolism3. Finally, they bring resistance to physical fatigue through a reduction effect of free radicals4.

Vitaline contains phytonutrients from 20 different fruits and vegetables and many “super foods” such as the spirulin, chlorella, maca and açai. Vitaline is also rich in phenols and polyphenols, the most recommended antioxidants, and has a 2 211/repas ORAC index, which is huge.

3. Profile of excellent and quantity proteins

Our protein profile is excellent. A first part of Vitaline proteins are present in the full ingredients we integrate: this represents about 14 g of protein per meal (slight variations according to versions), or about 50% of diverse sources from whole ingredients.

To obtain significant amounts of protein, which is desirable, we add milk and pea proteins. Milk proteins are those with the best PDCAAS index5 (Destibility-corrected protein amino acid score) and are the best for muscle construction. They have a full amino acid profile and are recognized in the sporting environment to be the best to date. Pea proteins are a highly recommended source of protein and especially chosen by sportsmen because their content is strong in arginine, amino acid important for muscle construction.

4. Quality and stable probiotic strains

None of our competitors available in Europe integrates probiotics into their product6.

Yet, probiotics are key elements of nutrition. Studies follow demonstrating their importance to health: immunity, digestion, allergy problems, metabolic balance...Many subjects are linked to the balance of the microbiote.
We selected the Bacillus Coagulans because this strain is today the best compromise between functional inputs7 and stability. In detail, the stability of these probiotics comes from their ability to form spores, which are an extremely stable form in time and dry medium. These spores reactivate in the right environment, here the digestive tube. It is this particularity that allows us to guarantee their stability in Vitaline.

We put in Vitaline an appropriate amount of probiotics for a regular meal: 500 million CFU (Unités de formation de colonies)/repas. The dose is lower than the generally available doses in dietary supplements (often 2 to 2.5 billion CFU per dose) because Vitaline is not a cure. This dose is proportionate for regular use.

5. High quality ingredients and rigorous sourcing

Our sourcing process is ambitious. We are looking for the ingredients that allow us to achieve the most efficient formulation possible. Then we select our sources according to specific preference criteria:

  • Nutritional values
  • Quality of analysis
  • No additives
  • Geographical origin
  • Bio

Our choice of Bio ingredients is justified by our desire to limit the rate of endocrine pesticides and disruptors in Vitaline to the maximum. Indeed, used out of hand in contemporary agriculture, endocrine pesticides and disruptors contaminate ingredients and many foods consumed daily. The choice of ingredients from Biological agriculture is a good way to limit their contamination. The most publicized recent illustration on the subject is the study that took place on mueslis in 20168.

We believe that limiting exposure to these substances/contaminants is best and that this is part of the proposal for value of nutrition of excellence.

We are not yet able to achieve the level of performance we want with only Bio ingredients. Therefore, it is important to provide you with precise information on the origin and traceability of our ingredients. We will detail these two topics in an upcoming article on our sourcing.

6. Excellent nutritional values

Our nutritional balances are built to achieve the healthiest diet for metabolism while smoothing satiety and energy supply.
Our goal: to release the potential of our body to be 100% of our abilities.
Not only “feed” but “be at the best of its form”.

We design Vitaline with ambitious nutritional objectives that are difficult to achieve by feeding in a classic way:

  • Low sugar content: 12% RCA / meal

This is a lower value than AJRs because the revisions of recent years are constantly declining on sugar. We believe that there is strong regulatory inertia and that these values will still fall widely in the light of advances in nutrition. We therefore believe that it is healthy to have fewer than official targets.

  • Low GI: 24

A low glycaemic index allows for smoothing blood sugar over time and limiting peaks of insulin. There are small variations in IG depending on Vitaline versions.

  • Rich in protein: 29 g per meal

It is recommended that the protein should be consumed between 0.8 and 1.2 g per kg body mass. European food is generally too low in protein and it is best to be in the upper range as recent studies point out.

  • Optimal 3/6 ratio of 1 to 3

The recommendations range from 1 to 3 to 1 to 49. We wanted to maintain a healthy balance while pushing towards a light rebalancing, because in large majority we consume too many omega 6. We therefore propose a ratio of 1 to 3 in favour of omega 6. For more information, you can also consult our article on lipids in Vitaline.

  • Important vitamin and minerals

Vitaline contains at least 50% AJR per meal for the vast majority of the micronutrients present. Some exceptions, however, such as the K1 for which K2 is more desirable, or the sodium we consume too much in general.
Marked choices about the following nutrients:
    - Vitamin C = 150 % AJR/meals: contributing to energy and immunity, and whose studies show that overdose is unlikely
    - Vitamin D = 100 % AJR/meals: participating in protein synthesis, immunity, calcium absorption and phosphorus
    - Magnesium = 57 % AJR/meals: contributing to general metabolism and stress reduction
    - Fluorine = 0 %: already present in high quantity in mineral and current waters
    - Sodium and chloride = 15 % AJR/meals: already too present in the standard feed

7. And in addition, it's delicious!

The tastes and colors are unique to each other but we have excellent feedback, especially since our version 6. The fact that the ingredients are natural, that the formulas are unsweetened, that our tastes come from real ingredients and not artificial flavours, please our consumers. Their perception is that our meals are not disgusting like other products that are too sweet.

Our consumers tell us that they feel better when they consume Vitaline, they feel more light intestinal, in physical fitness, have a good vitality. The athletes tell us that they are winning on their performance.

That is our difference.
